This time, I came to Guangzhou with friends to escape the cold, and instead of squeezing into the bustling city of Tianhe, I directly booked the Clifford Hotel Resort Centre Panyu Guangzhou in Panyu. I thought I was just looking for a place to stay close to Chimelong, but I didn't expect to stay for three days. Instead, in the warm winter sun of Guangzhou, I found a completely leisurely time without rushing.
As soon as the car entered the area of Qifu New Estate, the noise outside the window gradually faded away. The doorman at the hotel gate greeted us with a smile to pick up our luggage, speaking soft Cantonese, reminding us that the triangular plum blossoms in the park are blooming perfectly recently, and we can take a walk towards the lake in the evening. The first thing that catches my eye as I walk into the lobby is the tall floor to ceiling glass, with warm golden sunlight directly shining on the marble floor. The potted plants in the corners are lush and green, completely devoid of the cold and hard feeling of high-end hotels, like entering a small oasis hidden in the city. The front desk for checking in specially arranged a garden view room for us, where we could see a large area of green plants when we opened the window. They also stuffed two coupons for the hotel's self-service restaurant, saying that a new Cantonese style morning tea stall has been added recently, and shrimp dumplings and shaomai are freshly steamed.
At the moment of opening the door, most of the exhaustion from the journey dissipated. The beige bedding is just fluffy, and two bottles of local Guangzhou herbal tea have been arranged in advance on the small coffee table by the window. The entrance is a light licorice fragrance, which just dissolves the dryness and heat of the journey. The most surprising thing was the balcony, where two wicker chairs were placed. In the afternoon, they would snuggle up on it and bask in the sun. The wind was wrapped in the fragrance of flowers from the distant garden, and they didn't even want to click on their work messages on their phones. The shower head in the bathroom has a dense stream of water, and hot water comes out in seconds. After wandering around for a day and taking a shower, I feel completely relaxed.
The most unforgettable experience was the hotel's morning tea. The restaurant is full of local aunts and uncles, and the aunt pushing the car will greet you in Cantonese. When you bite the steamed shrimp dumplings, you can see the whole shrimp. The chicken feet are so soft and boneless that the ingredients in the submarine porridge are fully placed. After finishing morning tea, we walked along the hotel's lakeside trail, where guests were feeding swans with their children. The triangular plum blossoms on the roadside were in full bloom, and the cleaning lady nodded and greeted us from afar. In the evening, go to the hotel's swimming pool for a two lap swim. The water is clear and there are not many people. When you come ashore and lean against the pool, you can see the pink and purple sunset glow falling on the lake surface.
On the day of leaving, I packed my luggage and the waiter specially gave me two extra boxes of homemade wife cakes from the hotel, saying that if I was hungry on the way, I could use them as a cushion. I used to think that when I came to Guangzhou, I had to squeeze through the attractions and rush to the food street. However, this time at Clifford Hotel Resort Centre Panyu Guangzhou, I realized that good accommodation itself is a part of vacation. It doesn't mention the word 'luxury' on its lips, but hides the looseness and appropriateness of Lao Guang in every detail.
